Environmental Management System

Accreditation For Environmental Management Systems (EMS)

Certification bodies (CBs) offer Environmental Management System certification to organizations that have management systems meeting the requirements of the ISO14001 standard. The ISO14001 standard outlines the necessary elements of an environmental management system that an organization must have in place to obtain certification. To achieve this standard, a company must establish an environmental policy that is communicated to all employees. It must also define its environmental aspects and establish objectives and targets to enhance its environmental impact and performance. These objectives and targets must be measurable and closely monitored by the organization. Additionally, a company must ensure compliance with all applicable environmental legislation.

In order to apply for ISO 14001 accreditation, a certification body must adhere to ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 17021-2, as well as other international requirements specified in the Specific Requirements for Accreditation for EMS Scheme.

Certification bodies that are interested in applying for an accreditation scheme for EMS may submit a request for the application documents by sending an email to info@uasaccreditation.org.
